What we believe:
Provided below is an excerpt from Article VII of the By-Laws of Project Holy Nations, regarding requirements for maintaining membership and employment with PHN. These By-Laws are what we believe and what we require for those who will partner with us, whether for short term or long term missions.
“Section 1. Tenets of Faith. Each member or employee of the corporation must adhere to the tenets of faith as described here in section 1:
We believe (a) in the verbal inspiration of the Bible, (b) in one God eternally existing in three persons, namely: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost; known more commonly as the Trinity, (c) that Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of the Father, conceived of the Holy Ghost, and born of the virgin Mary; that Jesus was crucified, buried, and raised from the dead; and that he ascended to Heaven and is today at the right hand of the Father as the intercessor. We believe that (d) all have sinned and come short of the glory of God, and that repentance is commanded of God for all and is necessary for forgiveness of sins, (e) that justification, regeneration, and the new birth are wrought by faith through the blood of Jesus Christ and (f) in Sanctification subsequent to the new birth, through faith in the blood of Jesus Christ, through the Word, and by the Holy Ghost, (g) Holiness to be God’s standard of living for his people and that leaders of any committee, church, or worship function, as well as employees of PHN must strive to live according to biblical standards of holiness, including but not limited to: being married to only 1 spouse (not divorced and remarried), dressing and keeping themselves in modesty and purity, and not using any form of alcohol, tobacco, or illicit drugs; We also believe (h) in the baptism of the Holy Ghost subsequent to a clean heart, (i) in speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance, and that it is the initial evidence of the baptism of the Holy Ghost; (j) in water baptism by immersion. All who repent should be baptized in the name of the Father, the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, that (k) divine healing is provided for all in the atonement. We believe in such ordinances as (l) the Lord’s supper and washing of the saint’s feet, (m) in the pre-millennial second coming of Jesus: First, to resurrect the righteous dead and to catch away the living saints to Him in the air, second, to be followed by the tribulation period lasting seven years, third, to return gloriously and reign on earth a thousand years. Finally, we believe (n) in the bodily resurrection, eternal life for the righteous, and eternal punishment for the wicked.
